Core Purpose (My Why)

Coaching to generate impact with Entrepreneurs and Corporate leaders from around the world, who possess the desire and willingness to do good in business, so that together we can do good in the world! I am proud to live in an amazing slice of the world with rich biodiversity and contribute to Costa Rica’s National aspirational Decarbonization Plan—which aims for net-zero emissions by 2050! Being in nature brings great joy to me!

It is an honor to coach leaders who are on this scaling journey to deliver scalable, sustainable, social and economic impact while experiencing more Joy!  Navigating their unique leadership journeys to scale  their mindsets, their leadership, and their teams while scaling their businesses! Shifting from just DOING to also BEING their best to inspire all and leave the world better than they found it while experiencing more Joy in life!

1. FREEDOM

Being at choice is HUGE for me! I grew up in an Entrepreneurial family and had many inspiring family role models, including my parents. I started working when I was 12 years old babysitting and delivering a paper route, and had 3 more jobs before I graduated from high school. Serving in the corporate world for 25yr tethered me tightly to the corporate treadmill, and I only really discovered the impact of those shackles after I left. Since I’ve become an Entrepreneur, I’ve reveled in the freedom to design my life and career to tailor fit me. I’m a digital nomad, I can work anywhere, choose whom I want to serve, and that inspires me to generate the impact that I want to make in the world. Being in the driver’s seat of my life allows me to show up as I choose, despite what comes at me. I thrive being at a cause, designing my life well to serve me and those I care about most!

2. CURIOSITY

I question everything! My growth mindset propels me to seek possibilities, especially when faced with challenges. This natural gift has been very helpful in my coaching practice, helping clients to explore innovative ideas and possibilities! I look for and regularly find the positive in situations and coupled with my endless energy, I’m a force to be reckoned with! Warning: This can be challenging for my clients, as my constant curiosity naturally rubs off on them!!

3. LEARNING/TEACHING

I love learning and am inspired to build knowledge and stretch myself for my personal growth and share my learnings through teaching. I also teach new Scaling Up Coaches during their certification training, catalyzing Entrepreneurs around the globe to grow themselves while Scaling their business.  I learn tremendously from my students, Entrepreneurs and Corporate leaders. I’m an avid reader, more Audible these days, as it fits better in my active lifestyle to walk, hike, and drive while listening to books. I am always enrolled in a learning program, currently my learning is channeled in everything about Neuroscience and Mindset as I recognize how designing your mind to serve you and focusing upon what you want is the tip of the arrow to being and achieving what you desire.

4. ADVENTURE

I have always been fascinated with travel and different cultures. That fire got lit when I traveled to France after high school for the cultural exchange, and the fire was further stoked when I studied in Norway as part of my MBA study and had the joy of traveling with friends post-program visiting Denmark, Finland, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Turkey and the UK. I love the outdoors and all the adventures that Mother Nature offers; hiking, swimming, boating, and rafting are a few of my favorite adventures. My career and vacation choices have afforded me opportunities to travel and enjoy over 40 countries so far, and I have a bucket list that continues to grow with more than 20 countries that I wish to experience!

5. CONNECTION

I really enjoy spending time with other people, it gives me energy, and I’m fascinated to get to know them, their passions and interests. I make friends easily, build rapport quickly, and find it very nurturing to extend my professional network and build friendships. Across my broad personal and professional network, I enjoy tapping into my network to help others forge new connections. I’m a natural connector!

As part of my passion to use my coaching as a catalyst to contribute good in the world, I support all 17 of the United Nations Sustainability & Development goals to meet the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. I bring these aspirational goals into my coaching engagements with clients to explore and create possibilities for how business leaders that profitably grow and scale their businesses can collaborate and be inspired by these 17 goals to invest some of their business profits into generating good, positively impacting the world.

Here’s the SDG goals that I contribute greatest to the world through my coaching practice:

#3: Good Health & Well-Being

An integral part of my coaching practice centers on leading “YOU” with your health and well-being fundamental to every leader’s success. I tell the story of the airline safety protocol that reminds us as passengers on the plane that in the event of an emergency, we need to put on our own oxygen masks 1st, before trying to help others. It is the same in leadership, you are a role model for many, how you take care of yourself sets the standard for your team and business. Especially since Covid, I’ve placed strong focus upon mental health and fitness, and the coaching service of “Scaling Your Mindset” is an example of that. Leaders that build their mental fitness cultivate more joy in their lives and have the advantage built up to effortlessly navigate whatever challenging situation comes at them. These highly resourced leaders perform strongly, build amazing teams, deliver outstanding outcomes, find deep fulfillment and have fun along the way!

#9: Industry Innovation & Infrastructure

This focus shows up as I do Strategy Planning with leaders and their leadership teams to build differentiated winning Strategies. Looking at how we build a unique, sustainable competitive advantage for a business is central to growing and scaling profitable revenue fast in the marketplace. And thinking outside the box, using methodologies like Appreciative Inquiry, allows us to tap into the creativity and genius of teams and build innovative approaches to uncommonly engage teams, attract clients and have fun while delivering outstanding business results.

#8: Decent Work & Economic Growth

Growing businesses are the thriving life-blood of our global economy. The war for Talent is fierce, I help teams create thriving Cultures, Core Purpose and Core Values that create an inviting winning work environment that attracts A -Players. These A-Players want to work for companies that do good in their communities and our environment. As businesses invest in their people’s growth, it leads to uncommon service and delighted customers, which fuels sustainable business growth! It’s a regenerative leadership circle that fuels goodness and a triple bottom line-People, Planet & Profit!!!

#17: Partnership for the Goals

Partnerships facilitate collaboration to pool resources, share expertise, and tap into new markets. Coaching allows the space to “work on the business” and explore how collaboration can expand possibilities. Through thinking of partnerships through a strategic lens, leaders can access funding opportunities, technology advancements, and knowledge exchange to enhance their productivity and competitiveness. This collaboration helps these businesses maximize their triple bottom line by creating social, environmental, and economic value that positively impacts their communities and stakeholders.

Within the SDG goals, the United Nations has further developed Inner Development Goals (IDGs) which guide my coaching to build Regenerative Leaders that are contributing to the world in big and inspiring ways!

These Inner Development Goals are a set of inner skills and qualities that are needed to accelerate the slow-moving work that goes into achieving the SDG targets.

These are for leaders and organizations willing and able to support the integration of inner development as an ACCELERATOR for human flourishing and sustainability. The IDGs are intended to be used to incorporate inner development into organizations’ strategic planning and operations.

Bottom line: I see the IDGs as a framework for helping us develop Regenerative Leadership, which is about improving self-awareness and Earth-awareness!
